Meet Dr. Hollinger

Dr. Hollinger is a music educator, composer, organist and music and worship consultant. His organ concerts delight audiences with an informative and innovative approach to organ playing.

He is the co-author of the book From a Mustard Seed: Enlivening Worship and Music in the Small Church (Alban Institute). As a composer he creates magnificent works in various styles and skill levels.

Most recently he was Adjunct Professor of Music at Columbia College where he taught Introduction to Music, Musicianship, Piano Class, and Directed the Columbia College Community Chorus for 11 years. He recently retired as Director of Music at Open Door United Church of Christ, Murphys, CA and relocated to the Myrtle Beach SC area where he is active as a composer and organ recitalist.

Daryl Hollinger’s professional experiences include Dean of the Chapel, Seminary Musician and Adjunct Professor of Worship and Music at Lancaster Theological Seminary, and Music Professor at Southeastern Bible College, Reading Area Community College and Eastern Mennonite University. He directed the Ephrata Cloister Chorus for 18 years and has given concerts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Bulgaria as well as parts of the US.

As a composer, Daryl is commissioned by choral groups, congregations, and national organizations. A set of his organ compositions, From Every Corner: Diverse Organ Preludes, was published by Augsburg Fortress Press. His choral and organ compositions are recorded on seven CDs including Spirit Ascending performed by the Lancaster Chamber Singers. His most recent recording, Songs for the Inner Journey, is a collection of his scripture songs for assembly, guitar, keyboard and flute.
